Then, on the 1st of September, 1730, between 9 and 10pm, Lanzarote began The lava from those eruptions is in this picture. It's the same cliff in the
to erupt in the Timanfaya region. This was witnessed by a local priest living
in Yaiza, barely 3 miles away. I will add references to his testimony later.
That he survived is a miracle, considering that the island continued to erupt
from many different places for the next 6 years!

of lava that's only a couple hundred years old, and one that is millions of years
old. No compression... Also notice that the older layers have been pushed up
